Ironic Love Hymn Accompanied by a Strange and Lonely Haiku

Do you remember the well
last night where we were
closer than ever
except for the petty times?

We were like two yellow
canaries in a cage.
Our songs
made for each other.
I threw a quarter down

into the deep chamber
that time and made a
wish
Did you hear or
was the splash
loud enough that
everything else just faded

away?
I think it was dark and
the moon was up,
but your eyes look like
two big gemstones in
the lunar bath.

Circling up there over
the craters is where
my mind goes
on these nights when
we're just watching.
It's hard to
see how they call
it such a desolate
rock.

It's too much to be
a simple rock.
Too many dreams
live there,
too many futures
are staked upon
it,
that think we call "la luna"

But if I watch up
too long I might miss
the now and it'd be
then but the past is
what we live the future
for.
so maybe I'm deluded
but right.

There was a flower
growing last night where
we were laying,
a single one,
purple and
yellow and
rainbow
and I picked it and
gave it to you not
knowing that out of its home
it would fade away.

I wanted to see Boston.
I wanted you to come.
We'd claim the world,
and then our hearts,
but the flower faded
and you faded and I
knew,
I don't need
Boston anymore.

irony is when
emotion is not
from experience

WE TINK WE WIKE IT........

Nay, if our wits run the Wild-Goose chase, I am done:
For thou hast more of the Wild-Goose in one of thy wits,
Than I am sure I have in my whole five.
