The softness of her flowing hair
deceived many a fighting mortal.
Her womanly curves displayed before
her waiting feminine portal.

Men would tremble seeing her
astride a steed so wild
many thought he could win her heart
by being soft and mild.

But she was a warrior woman
brave and strong and true
no mere man would win her heart
no matter what he would do.

She slew as many enemies
as any manly horde
and fended off every aggressive charge
with her unyielding Spartan sword.

wow, well, yanno? You've just given me the ticket to motivation... now I think I'm going to pick up a quill and write a poem based on Birgitte, the archer with a silver bow who never missed a target.

The warrior archer, actually! sounds like we have a duel here... no, actually our heroines on strings do ... which means we play them like puppets as they stab at each other.

I really love this, but I'm working on Ulysses right now.

I could've sworn this is a very masterful poem. It really warms my heart, since I have this deep involvement with fantasy, myths, legends, etc... please, can I add this to my favorite collection?

Wonderful...this reminds me of my best friend, the strong, womanly warrior. I truly enjoyed this.

For those of us who are not there yet...this is what we should aspire to be...brave and strong and true...well-written...

vun-da-bah deVine!
I love the last line (and title) it's a powerful phrase, to fit the description of a powerful woman!

BRAVO!

This was the result of a challenge: use the phrase: unyielding Spartan sword... Thank you again...

Balladeer, your ex sends her love from Spartanburg...
