Once again morning comes too soon Off he goes to work and the kids want to be fed I stumble out of bed, fueled only by their needs. Breakfast is done, the kids are watching TV I wash the sleep from my eyes and look into the mirror To see what face I will be wearing today. I drink my coffee and think of what needs done So much to do, so little time and yet There I sit and my mind wanders. Dishes to wash, rooms to clean Squabbles to quell, tears to wipe away Trying to do it all before time slips by. Bills to pay and meals to fix He comes home and shares his day Kisses for all and off I go to work. Do my job with thoughtless effort Share my life with friendly strangers I say my good-byes and go home. The house is quiet, so very still And once again my thoughts are my own As I slowly go up the stairs to bed. He turns to me, this gentle man Secure in his love for me, wishes me good night And then he kisses me. I close my eyes and feel the day slip away With practiced ease my thoughts turn into dreams And once more... [This message has been edited by Terri (edited 08-16-99).] |

I could fill this screen with my reply to this poem but let me just say....BEAUTIFUL! You have done a superb job of construction here to create this. It is thought provoking and I hope the readers can grasp the true meanings of your words. Seems incredible that it could be here an hour without being commented on but don't be discouraged. Sometimes it takes a little time for new members to receive proper acknowledgement. With writing like this, it will come quickly for you, I assure you. Well done and please give us more. |

Terri, what a wonderful cloth you have woven a very effective device. Can you imagine the one life without the other?...p |

Allow me to echo the gentlemen who precede me here... This is very, very, nicely done. If only people could always keep that special closeness between them Let's see more of your work, please? ------------------ Nay, if our wits run the Wild-Goose chase, I am done: For thou hast more of the Wild-Goose in one of thy wits, Than I am sure I have in my whole five. ~ ²1592 Wm. Thank you all for your kind words! You might want to read it again, only this time there are 2 different men being referred to. Kinda changes the whole tone of it. Thanks again! |

Terri, I liked it. What I'm getting from it is a woman who is bogged down in the reality of her monotonous life and finds her happiness elsewhere. On the one hand, she has the husband who loves her, and on the other, the lover who makes her heart race. Is my interpretation anywhere on the mark? |

Ok, I missed the true meaning the first time I read it but this is really heavy duty stuff. Very well done and very much appreciated. sandman |

Very well done, this is beautiful. ------------------ *Krista Knutson* "If I could be an angel, I'd make your every wish come true. But I am only human, just a woman lovin' you..." Trisha Yearwood |

Red--I am humbled by such praise!(Not gonna let you forget you said it either...LOL) Pen--You know what they say, Great minds...(wink) Once again, thank you all for such a warm reception at my first endeavor! Wandering into this forum was a godsend for it has given me much inspiration and delight. Now, if I could only get this little voice to shut up...keeps mumbling something about a one trick pony. ------------------ "In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit." --Albert Schweitzer |

Graham--very high praise, indeed! I feel I've yet to aspire to the lofty poetic heights many here have attained but your kind words are greatly appreciated! |

You have attained something in words that is very elusive and I compliment you. A difficult thing well done, I will watch for your poems. |

I think it's all been said already, but I would like to echo the sentiments already expressed. Really good! |

::shuffling feet:: Aw, you guys! ::blush:: Seymour--the poem was something that I carried in my heart for quite a few years. It was only dumb luck that I was able to convey those feelings to others. Thanks! Caroline--ahh, a kindred spirit...LOL! Thank you. Moonmoon--how sweet! Your research won't take very long since I've done only 4 posts...LOL! As far as learning from me, I am truly flattered but I suggest you look up to the 'stars' here 'cause I'm just learning to crawl myself : ) Sue--thank you! I always appreciate your comments 'cause I know you'll stop me make an @$$ of myself ; ) [This message has been edited by Terri (edited 08-17-99).] |
