A new day dawns on a far distant horizon. A multitude of eyes gaze to see a sign of the one. A darkness against the sun. A chaotic murmur rumbles across the crowd. The light of the new sun crowns her in a halo of light. She is come! See her, so beautiful! At her approach, restlessness is calmed. Her regal bearing takes all to their knees. All but one. All are respectfully awed. All but one. One stands tall amid a sea of bowed heads. He ignores the mumbles, and those who try to pull him down. He locks his eyes with her as she rides by. Karma draws them together, the rest no longer exist. Alone in harmony, their souls dance close together. Yet their bodies remain separated by eons of culture. A distance too vast to overcome, even by such as this. Love is discovered in an instant of ecstasy. And is lost in a moment of sorrow. To others, it was but a moment, hardly noticeable. To them, the two lovers, it was enough for a lifetime. The gaze is severed, parted cruelly by an unjust fate. Her head droops low, her chin against her chest. He sinks slowly to his knees, soon hidden by the crowd. Two tears fall silently to the ground. And the journey continues. ------------------ Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll be among the stars. -Unknown- So let the sun beat down upon my face, It's warmth will dry my tears. |

This one is a beauty ! I can't believe you didn't get any more response than you did ? Was everyone asleep when this went by? Back to the top it goes.....I felt as if I were in the crowd myself witnessing the fire between these two! Fabulous! ------------------ - poet FemmeFatale "The strongest man in the world is he who stands most alone..." Henrik Ibsen (1826-1906) Norwegian dramatist lyric poet |
