Point of Origin

I can not tell you where or when
this fire of ours started;
or how you warmed this soul of mine,
so cold and broken hearted.

I can not say what caused the spark
that soon became a flame.
The time or place that it began
I can not really name.

Was it when I first heard your voice
fall softly on my ear?
Or when looking in your eyes I saw
our love reflected there?

Could it have been when we first kissed
on that October day?
Or the first time you held my hand?
I can not really say.

Amazing how a spark can grow
so quickly to a fire;
and friendship grow into a love;
and love into desire.

No, it matters not where it began,
but only that it ends
in a fire of love that started with
a spark that we call friends.

This a wonderful piece, it captures the essential "spark" of love and friendship well.
Not to mention, a well done format.

I really enjoyed this.I think one should
always be a friend first and a lover last.
Happy writing.

Dream....thank you, you are a dear

Elvira....thanks, but it wasn't quite as smooth as I would have liked, but what can I expect for 3 AM

Angel...thanks, I had a hard time ending this one, wasn't sure if it worked or not, was rather nervous about posting it

Tim...No, thank you for your kind words. I really do not work too hard on my writing, sometimes it shows, other times I get lucky

Delorees....Thanks, all love should start with freindship. I could not agree more
