Your sweet angel kisses won’t be felt tonight I can’t tuck you in the shadows of the hall light I won’t have the chance to hear your gentle breathing Or tell you fairy tale stories you are always believing Your little girl voice won’t say, “I love you more” When at the end of the eve I gently pull closed your door And after you’ve fallen asleep tonight I can’t sneak A look at your face in my last goodnight peak My heart feels the burden that I wont hear you cry If you awaken from a bad dream, I won’t be close by But I’m proud of your independence in your first night away (Even if I wish we could have put it off another day!) ------------------ For sometimes when the Darkness falls, we must surrender, take what is ours, and give what we can, and always remember love is somewhere waiting... |
