Poetry is not meter, Nor rhyme, Nor even words we use. Poetry is the willingness To dream, And the courage and skill To share that dream. So that others may dream, too. |

Exactly! Beautifully expressed. I know you don't have a lot of time, but your poetry is what inspired me to post my very first poem with you. You shared your dream with me and now, I hope, I am sharing it with others and they are sharing it....to create a never ending circle of dreams. Thank you. |

Poetry is dreaming what we write, and writing what we dream... |

Poetry is confidence, in sharing a dream. ------------------ The day is at it's end, but for you it's only just begining. |

Ron, You've done a great deal to further that dream for a LOT of poets. Congratulations on the continued success of this site and on the encouragement we've all received as a result of your work. sandman |

Love is a canvas furnished by Nature and embroidered by imagination. ~~~Voltaire~~~ the same can be said about poetry |

I agree with you Ron. Poetry is willingness to dream. You've captured many of our feelings exquisitely. Thank you for everything. ------------------ *Krista Knutson* "It's a crazy thing, fate has perfect wings..."-Deanna Carter |

I agree with your statement, Ron, always have in fact. Yet I look at the definition of the word and find it lacking in comparison to your description. Perhaps the defintion should be revised. I'm glad that the forum is here, but I see all these comments to this and wonder why that understanding isn't directed toward everyone, instead of just you. Question: If I find something to be poetic, does that mean it is poetry or just being described as such? ------------------ Shall I indulge in flights of fancy hampered by clipped wings? DreamEvil© |

I agree wholeheartedly with you Ron. You are a wonderful poet which reflects the fact that you must dream. What beautiful dreams they are. blueloon |

Ron Nicely put - but (leave it to me to add in the 'but' - lol), I think what distinguishes poetry from expression is that poetry demands that we first think about our dreams, and then express those dreams thoughtfully and creatively. For example, a dream for peace can be expressed as I wish I was more at peace with myself. Poetic? naw... Peace, please, Peace, I've needed you When others have not needed me. My dreams of your sweet release, Have eluded me spiritually. Poetic? naw... lol - well, that is sort of the drift. Since I'm new here, I think there should be some latitude given me when I say: Thanks for the board, Ron - I've been searching for so long to find inspiration. |

I'm glad Drauntz brought this one up Ron. I don't recall reading it before. I couldn't agree more with the philosophy behind this. Much enjoyed the sentiments you captured here, and couldn't agree more. Best wishes and hugs, /Kit |
