You asked for wealth I gave you sun. Its glory to behold. But with a frown you turned it down and never saw it's gold. You asked for beauty so I plucked a blossom from a tree Then with a sigh you passed it by for you saw only me. You asked of me so many things, demands I could not meet. Though I would try my love did lie one step beneath you feet. |
