Water In My Cup |

I have learned to walk amid misfortune. That which I overcome defines my stringth. That which overcomes me, may choose the path I take, but I select the waters that I drink. I'll not quench my thirst with discontentment, those waters taken from polluted streams. For it takes but a sip to realize that this is water that contaminates my dreams. If I have a cup of bitter anguish I will not savor its futility. To drink of hopelessness is loathsome to my taste. And water from my tears can not sustain me. So I will walk along the path before me though I can not percieve where it will end And I will drink of life, the water in my cup or pour it out and fill the cup again.
