(This was written for my sister who met her love here online and will become his wife in May...also dedicated to all the internet romances...It can happen!!!) They Met on the Net They met on the net What a strange place She could not hear his voice He could not see her face But she wrote his story And he sung her song And somehow they knew That they'd get along They talked and they talked Became very good friends They met on the net But that's not where it ends He asked her to meet him And she agreed to They were destined to meet So what else could they do They met on the net And in person once more She knew it was him When he entered the door He reconized her As he entered the place Smiled when he saw her And then touched her face It was like he had known her Not for months, but for years With the joy that he felt His eyes brimmed with tears They met on the net And that was alright But when she saw him It was love at first sight He asked for her hand And then gave her a ring When she said, "I will" His heart started to sing Oh, they met on the net Then they met in real life It was destined to be And she now is his wife ------------------ "Nobody has measured, not even poets, how much the heart can hold" ~Zelda Fitzgerald |

We met on the net and, to my great surprise, When I saw her in person, she had more that two eyes! She was "I's this..." and "I's that..." and "I's gonna get..." The "I" was the mainstay of her alphabet! The day that I met her I'll always regret, And now I know why they call it the 'net'! |

Am laughing, thanks Balladeer! Have seen it go both ways, the romantic in me still believes it can be done. ------------------ "Nobody has measured, not even poets, how much the heart can hold" ~Zelda Fitzgerald |

Balladeer...he can be so goofy sometimes...but we love him! I loved this "net come true" love poem, it was heartwarming hoot_owl. Thanx for sharing such a sweet true story! ------------------ For sometimes when the Darkness falls, we must surrender, take what is ours, and give what we can, and always remember love is somewhere waiting... |

This was lovely. My son married a girl he meet on ICQ. The net is the 'singles bar' of the new millennium! I'm still fishing by the way...all I get are walleyed pike and carp! |

Laughs, thanks poet, know the feeling, maybe we aren't using the right bait? Thanks Andrew, they liked it. ------------------ "Nobody has measured, not even poets, how much the heart can hold" ~Zelda Fitzgerald |
