Misspent youth with passions ebbing lives lived in cold, hostile dread lies shrouded in vows given truth left hidden in words unsaid. Cold passion in battles waged while children became the prize enduring pawns to warrior parents not knowing which one to despise. Years of agony and the battle raged no victory for either side peace will reign in the house of war only when the combatants have died. When did the line ‘tween love and hate get so battered and so muddied Who gave the signal to the battle join who was first, beaten and bloodied. Tormented love, triumphant hate joined in wedlock profane finding battles won or lost in wretched delight, victorious pain. |

A wonderful way to describe the torment of divorce and separation... that thin line between love and hate becoming distorted in pain and everything that's said and done... comes to a point when it's in vain...i've been there...well done... |

Well, well done. So sad but true. The pulse of a sick nation. Perhaps the pain of our childrens generation will impel them not to commit the same selfish mistakes as their parents and restore the family to its necessary strength. As the strenth of the body is the total cumulative strength(or weakness) of all its cells, so is our national strength dependent on its family units(cells)and their components(individuals). We have created and woven so much anger into the national fabric. |

I still envy you the ability to write good, meaningful poetry based on little more than a phrase someone hands to you. Especially this particular phrase... |

Speaking as a casualty of such wars, your words speak volumes of truth. This is a very strong piece and artfully done. Your superior talent radiates with each line. |

Thank you for your kind comments. This poem was hard to write for many reasons. |
