Realization

Meaningless words written in a poem,
the out pouring of my heart,
feelings I can't seem to get across to you.
I try to tell you of my love
but it all seems so senseless.
I tell you that I love you,
but you don't reply.
I put all of my love into a kiss,
but you don't respond.
I reach for your hand,
but you pull it away from me.
Confused and hurt,
I try to hide behind a dream.
I picture us together in paradise...
always a happy ending.
Then I see that look in your eye
and all my illusions fall to the ground,
shattering into tiny pieces
that even the slightest breeze blows away.
Again, I am left empty.
Suddenly I realize,
you can not fill the gap in my life...
I had just tried to shove you in
for want of something better to fill the empty space;
and so I let you go.
Maybe someday,
I will find the person I need
and I too will be needed.
Somewhere out there,
somebody has a place in his life
just big enough for me to fit in.

I know there's someone out there, just yearning for your heart to share, and your mind to care. I hope you find that little place that you will feel snug within.

Hoot,
I'm sure there is.
Good job on the poem.

Life with out love and passion is liken unto
Darkness within the depths of our soul
Until love once again shins bright
Why can love not see us is he blind? he stands before us
Here we are we cry
Can he not hear us is he deaf
As well????????
Love your work very nicely done

Hoot,
Very nice. I especially like the lines

you can not fill the gap in my life...
I had just tried to shove you in

Excellent realization in words and elsewhere.

Hoot you have a place that's here!! But I of course know what ya mean, a m-a-n. Your poetry is just beautiful! I feel these words big time, the first part anyway. Thanks Hoot!
