stealing dignity like thieves. They take a man's mind and his riches, then trash all that he believes. Some hold a man's secrets over him, blackmail is their intention. They deceitfully speak on a whim, of sexual abstention. I'm here to call a few kettles black, mostly for the things they've done. They set men up for verbal attack, then swear it was all in fun. There is no reason to call out names, each of us knows who they are. I'm tired of their one-sided games, with no care for who they scar. I don't really want to be unfair, nor their pity to enjoin. Not all carry an arrogant air, there's the flip side of the coin. Some women are so warm and giving, a tribute to their gender. Of wicked sins they are forgiving, with caring warm and tender. These women are why I learned romance, polishing this silver tongue. Melting a Lady's heart with a glance, passed the time when I was young. For those women that this verse offends, every word I've said is true. Your place in my rhyme always depends, entirely upon you. ©1999 DreamEvil ------------------ Pain is life, life is short, I will endure. DreamEvil© |

Thank you, my friend, for seeing both sides of that much-tossed coin, with both eyes open and your heart in the right place. ------------------ The only man worth your tears will never make you cry... |

Excellent message, Dream... I have to say that I believe that to be true. Although, the same goes for men... hehehe We're all human..... ------------------ ~onevoice~ "Odi et amo. Quare id faciam, fortasse requiris. Nescio, sed fieri sentio et excrucior." |

Great verse Dream! As always. But remember I think all people have two sides so to speak. Each has a not so good one, and a good one. For we ALL fall short. |

I think a lot of us can relate well to what you've said here DreamEvil. Every one paints a pretty portrait but when the paint starts peeling we find very few masterpieces. Cherish the one you've found my friend. Michael |

Well done Sir. Few have the gift to see both sides so well, and with equal fervor. |

Top shelf material! Yes, there are outside influences but to a great degree we all choose who and what we are. Good final message. I really admire the consistant quality of your work. |

Excellent. I enjoyed this poem. Made me think as to why men can be jaded, as well as woman. Yet you didn't suscribe to one point of view. Bravo. Looking forward to more Stefanie [This message has been edited by Stefanie71 (edited 09-16-99).] |

Thank you all very much for the response to this. Unlike past poems, in this one I tried to be fair and will continue to try. No promises though. Like walt, I have found someone who embodies the best qualities of both sides to the female coin. She gives me hope, something I've had little of. She restores my faith as well. Ron, to you go many thanks for making these things possible for me. |

Dream, it's a shame you don't know me....for who I am....I am not what you think. That is alright though, for you are intitled to speak your mind, and I respect your thoughts and feelings. I've learned to not jest with you on sensitive matters, as I can with others....my apologies for ever offending you. I have the most utter respect for you and your poetry...you're a very talented man. I want to leave you with a kind thought....my philosophy - - Embrace but just one soul each day...bring a little smile to their day...with this, just imagine how many lives you can touch in a lifetime. ![]() ------------------ I beckon you to come...I lure you with my tongue... - poet FemmeFatale |

Dear Lady, 'tis you who have not responded to my repeated entreaties to engage in some correspondence or dialogue, not I. I would delight in knowing the person that you are. However, I present a general swath of cloth in my verse and I am saddened to find that you think it customed tailored to you. As I said in my final stanza, 'tis your decision which type of woman you are, not mine. I implore you dear Lady, please reconsider your disregard of my outstretched hand. ------------------ Now and forever my heart hears ~one voice~. DreamEvil© |
