There is nothing inside of me Only an empty hole Where my heart and soul used to be I look up from my void and see A beautiful woman Pick up that vital part of me I extend my hand out to her But never make it there A glass wall keeping me from her All I can do is watch and wait Detached from a distance As she presides over my fate She examines my heart and soul It’s many crags and nicks The struggles of life take their toll Then seemingly without a care She drops it to the ground It’s almost more than I can bear All around me, my world shatters Like my heart on the ground Gone is everything that matters It’s sundered into little shards Gone for the time being Crumbled like a frail house of cards All that’s left to do is rebuild From the shattered remains Someday, the dream will be fulfilled |

Soulful and well-phrased, evoking much empathy from experiences past. I too hope she is kind at some time. |
