Do we say sorry enough,
Or just let things lie?
Are we willing to take the risk,
To say those words even though we feel like we'll die?

I have found in my life,
People often won't,
They say mean things that cause strife,
Apologise no they don't!

For me those hurt feelings,
May last many a day,
I certainly don't dwell on them,
But they're slow to fade away.

I forgive them or make excuses for them,
I overlook that little flaw,
I pretend all is Ok now between us,
But inadvertantly I still keep score.

I am always thoughtful,
Quick to right a wrong,
Don't like bad vibes around,
Those feelings last too long.

And sometimes bad things happen,
You are too mad to say sorry,
Then you lose that person,
And all your left with is worry.

Worry that did they know,
You loved them still?
That disagreement was really nothing,
And your love for them was real.

So this is just a reminder,
To fix those gaping holes,
Cos you may not get another chance,
And peace and forgiveness should be our goals.

I have a favourite well know motto,
That I will pass onto you,
'A wise man forgets his anger before he lies down to sleep!'
Always apologise for it's the right thing to do.
