I stand upon the lonely shore
upon this granite peak
waiting for a soulmate
the poet that I seek

Withered dreams awakening
hope flowering inside me
dreams of love born anew
longing for this to be

I sought this love a lifetime
never daring to believe
that I would ever find it
that it would be mine to receive

The wind will carry you to me
upon the billowing sail
or brokenhearted I will then
die here, upon this shale

I see the ship that carries you
and search there for your face
but you did not journey here
you remained in her embrace

I hope you find your poet and cease to yearn for evermore.
