My body is alive, but my soul is dead. There wasn't enough food to keep it fed. What weakened state does it lye? The flame so dim, does not burneth bright. You can see it through my eye, just as though, It were a flickering light. It burned with the deepest loves, But was betrayed by the one, Who took it as though it was the last breath I breathe, Taken it away, so easily deceived. Why so innocent? Why so abused? Did not my souls many treasures enrich your mind? Your heart? Your soul? What you did was a crime, Stolen from me, what I did not give to steal. My dignity, My happiness, All feelings and dreams...Everything I am! A person whose heart is real! I am nothing now, I am empty as a hole, For what I lost cannot be found... YOU ARE THE THIEF OF MY SOUL!!! Meahna-Danae' [This message has been edited by A Romantic Heart (edited 09-03-99).] |

Welcome to Passions, A Romantic Heart. I liked your opening and the subject you chose. However, as the poem continued you sort of lost me. Oh I know the pain you accurately expressed. It is part of the accepted risk in loving another. Would you mind terribly if I used the same opening and built from there? INclan |

This poem was written from my heart about the pain of deceit and lies and adultry. It is a finalist in a contest at the moment! |

LOL on the contest! You are very talented. I really liked this piece. ------------------ Julie ------------------------- Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. Marianne Williamson |
