LeBret, Drummond, who else? I rake through you books alone. And I walk up the stairs, Without ice in my cup. A little sorrow can go a long way. An echo in an empty room. Yes Sophocles, the Raven, And your own Legacy. I'll make haste to take your place, With a book in my hand. My deadweighted back aches now Like prejudiced Libra scales. Papers float like dead leaves. Who will speak to us French, And somehow mispronounce "debris"? All the annoyances cease Were they not comforting? Now I diffuse this space. Keruoac, Machiavelli, Batman, And yet all along I see A reflection of you repeating. With some ice in my cup, I'm the same, And I wonder what will take up this space. An echo in an empty room. ------------------ "Come night, come darkness, for you cannot come too soon or stay too long in such a place as this." Charles Dickens roxane |

Very moving,I have read most of your poems and must say I have liked them all. ------------------ The wise man is the storm prays God,not for safety from danger, but for deliverance from fear.It is the storm within which endangers him,not the storm without. ~~Ralh Waldo Emerson~~ |
