In her mind she wanders through meadows flanked by mountains wildflowers swaying like tiny banners of dark pink polka-dots and yellow pupils in green-eyed grass A voice has called her here a sound made of bits of heaven woven together and washed with indigo dye, its opulence wrapped gently around her shoulders like a jeweled cape She listens to the wind and finds her own voice coming back to her and it laughs…a foreign sound yet it flies from her heart through her throat and out to the hazy edges of the fields Echoes return blended with the voice that brought her here She pulls the cape closer around her shoulders and sleeps to dream A dream within a dream She belongs. ------------------ The only man worth your tears will never make you cry... |
