I remember when you used to fly
Like Superman into the sky
You saved all damsels in distress
Your energy was limitless!

You rode the planes out in the west
In cowboy boots and hat and vest
And 'bad-guys' never stood a chance
When you arrived and took your stance!

And robbers always fled the scene
When 'Super-Cop' would intervene
And though those days are in the past
Their memories will always last..

And boyhood dreams don't have to die
For it's in dreams you still can fly!

(for my nephew, Brian, on his 21st birthday)
(Do you think I embarrassed him?!)

Embarrased him? He should feel blessed to have a relative like you. Wonderful meter, great poem.

May I be the first one to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Oh the wonders of youth, what a wonderful
piece of work, as well as a wonderful
present to your nephew.

Denise...Very well done. If he is embarassed of this poem he should be ashamed of himself. Only in dreams can we truely fly.

Denise it's lovely. I'm sure he wasn't embarrassed, he surely took it for what it was - a gift of love and memories..

If he's special enough to have such a poem written for him, he's probably special enough to understand what a gift it is! *G* Well done!
