Before the dawn of 'internet'
Alone I mused - with much regret;
Lo and behold there came a day
Lo, oh my soul, a place to play!

A happy place filled with great cheer;
Delightful folks - like Balladeer
Exuding warmth and wisdom - true;
Enchanting verse and humor too!

Regret's now past - I'm home at last!

I told Craig he would start a new trend in poetry! This is excellent! Even without the little 'trick', it's a good poem!

Didn't catch it at first, Denise. Hope Balladeer likes it.

Your first poem, I remember well, that you had posted here
Overwhelmed the tender heart of this old balladeer.
Uplifting to my soul it was. Of that there is no doubt.
Relentless in my hunger, I began to search you out.

Expressing heart-felt thought in such a quiet, simple way
Thoughts that others run from, you are happy to display.
Outpouring of emotion's not an easy thing to do..
Perhaps it would be, if we wrote as beautifully as you.

Since I've read several works of yours, I've come to realize
Incredibly, there's not one place you try to compromise
Not in your rhyme nor meter - never in your quality
Multiple things that you produced, I wish had come from me.

You are a prime example of the poet I'd like to be
Because everything I read of yours comes out so beautifully.
Our worth has been quadrupled since the day you first appeared.
Of all the poets I admire, I'm glad that you are here.

Keep on writin'....I'll keep readin'!

To Balladeer-

I simply write down what I feel;
I'm glad you say it has appeal;
So blessed I am that I have found
The grandest folks to hang around!

I'll not forget that special day
I found a place to come and play;
I simply have the grandest time
-So lost in rhythm - hooked on rhyme!

I'm flattered, Sir, you are too kind;
So grateful, too, that you're inclined
To take the time to compliment
One such as me...you're quite the gent!

You have expressed my own sentiments so well d. And I love Balladeer's response to it as well. It gives me warm fuzzies and now I'm gonna eat my Labor Day watermelon and revel in the interplay of my internet family.

Thanks for reading and commenting, HA. I'm glad you enjoyed this! It was my first acrostic! (Craig started it with his entitled 'Do Unto others' (I believe that's the title) (it's been awhile ago now!) I know he didn't invent it and that he's not like over a thousand years old or anything like that but it was the first acrostic I had ever seen (or remembered ever seeing) Check his out if you get a chance! It caused quite a ruckus here! Sorry, if I got the title wrong!

Denice,
Once again you touched me well
and I thought your poem was swell.
All kiding aside You write with a simplicity
and warmth that cannot help but capture its audience. *L*
