I dedicate this poem to Erik, where ever he may be. The following is a true story of my first and only three-dimensional infatuation. Until you set me free He went by Lucifer half the time I never wondered why My love for him a viscous crime Fall asleep and let me cry Nuclear neon brain violence Glow in the dark stars A snore that breaks silence Black light room with prison bars You had a never-ending quest To find the newest drug I immediately put my search to rest In your insufficient hug You always loved to watch me bleed Bamboo inflicted once It's on the wall for all to read Your scar I wore for months Still I saw something nice Through every twisted flaw But to you my love had a price It was against the law The countless days we spent together A long journey to the end I thought our friendship would last forever At least I could pretend Outside your window I sleep all night After breaking mine I had a dream that all was right But things stayed forever never fine Now you're gone and won't return And I hope you never will The past is gone I let it burn The void I can not fill I hate you now I hope you know It wasn't meant to be This animosity will forever grow Until you set me free ------------------ "while the soul slumbers god speaks to us in numbers."
