A daisy of the field (A pantoum) And though pedestrian at best A common daisy of the field She rules the beat that's in my breast Regardless of her humdrum wield. A common daisy of the field Just one of many of this earth Regardless of her humdrum wield, She is my only choice of worth. Just one of many of this earth She has the softness of a dove. She is my only choice of worth. Showers me with the girth of love. She has the softness of a dove. With the wit of a raconteur. Showers me with the girth of love And stories of a connoisseur. With the wit of a raconteur And though pedestrian at best And stories of a connoisseur She rules the beat that's in my breast. |
