I believe this has been posted, but i received a request this again along with another poem. So here it is:

Tyranny

What anger arises when I hear
Of abuse from someone dear
The feelings of hope that is squelched
By some self-centered asinine self

What wrongs do the innocent do
That makes it ok for you
To torment and douse their hopes
To bind them with controlling ropes

What a great person you must be
To feel good by tormenting the meek
To prey upon the innocents and good
That do the deeds as they should

I turn to the heavens and ask
God why does this have to last
Strike the tyranny from their lives
They have dealt with enough strife

Happiness prevail after the storm
A home returned to loving and warmth
This shelter has a home become
To the those who are spiritual ones.

------------------
Courage is the price that life exacts
for granting peace with yourself.
--Amelia Earhart

I love your work, my friend. You don't post often, but when you do, it's definitely worth reading.

How charged with punishments the scroll;
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Thanks for the comments. I feel the issue of abuse is one that shouldnt be pushed to the back anymore. It's far more common than people like to believe.

Yes, it is, unfortunately. I think poetry is one of the best ways to bring it out in the open, as you have. I have been removed from it for about 12 years now. I don't know why I haven't written anything about it. Perhaps I will consider doing something about it. Something to think about.

Thank you! it's difficult to write such things when you have spent much time blocking them out. But my friends are encouraging me to tell the tales.. so that they can be put to rest.
