Blink By Blink

Mentally strangled saltine crackers
frantically hungry for revenge.
Imagining suffocation through swallowing
as mutilated crumbs congeal together.

Souls demise creating destructive illusions.
Past brutality ringing bells of fear.
Hectic race of needless battles
rage carelessly in crowded unison.

Concurring blades of self-confidence
brace the mind to anchor the soul.
Fortress with a mighty shield
forces reality back blink by blink.

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints in our heart and we are never ever the same.

Thank you all for leaving footprints!!

Very interesting, indeed. I'm going to have to read this one several times to get the full impact of it. Nice work.

well I am not sure I understand the whole thing or all the symbolism, but I like it, it is worth trying to understand, and I loved the last stanza ...sigh...know that feeling well...
