It must be 2:00 a.m. in Memphis, Seems it's always midnight ‘round here. The chilling breeze an empty kiss On another night alone, I fear. The wind carries your name away, A whisper of my heart crying. I give you all I can everyday, But tonight, my soul is dying. Got your letter from the mail box, Your photo on my desk in a frame. And every night we have our talks, But I've never heard you say my name. Still girl, I know you're missing me, As I lie here missing you. But until we can touch our destiny, Just remember this much is true. There's two-thousand miles of blacktop, Stretching out between you and me. Two time zones that never stop Stealing our eternity. Two children each, and two long pasts, We're too tied down, maybe that's true. But two thousand miles of blacktop, Could never keep me from loving you. ------------------ Michael Anderson And so, being young and dipt in folly I fell in love with melancholy, But dreams - of those who dream as I, Aspiringly, are damned, and die: EAP [This message has been edited by Michael (edited 09-25-1999).] |

Well worded Mr. Michael. Sitting here alone tonight, pondering what "she" is doing, I feel the same. No children, no ties, yet the boundaries of distance still keep us apart. At least, you only have two thousand miles... I think you must be peeking Michael, for you keep drawing forth words from my soul. |

Oh Michael...I hope it's ok for me to get "mushy" in here with you ! People, if you have "weak" stomachs, you might want to leave now!!! LOL Seriously baby, you don't know how much this means to me...I love it that I inspire such beauty and emotion from your pen...although sad, this piece is probably one of my many favorites of yours...it rings so true, our situation now. 2000 miles, although far, you touch an intimate place in my soul everynight when we talk...I have never had a man reach down so deep into me and bring forth song from my spirit like you do. You have a gift...we are truly kindred spirits, and I will cherish every single precious moment I have you in my life......Thank you for believing in me and my love. **** Forever your Lady......FemmeFatale ------------------ I beckon you to come...I lure you with my tongue... - poet FemmeFatale |

Michael you and your chosen provide a voyeur such as myself with an unending stream of not-so-guilty pleasures. Keep on writing for your love, as I do for my own. ------------------ Now and forever my heart hears ~one voice~. DreamEvil© |

Michael: You know it is only miles that separates you both...but the love shared between you is that of two hearts touching...you can't get closer than that! HUGS ------------------ You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give. |

Michael I could have written this except to add about 636 miles onto the distance. Beautifully written and I know how you and Poet feel. ------------------ Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints in our heart and we are never ever the same. Thank you all for leaving footprints!! |

This is beautiful Michael. Makes me feel sad for the two of you, unable to be together. But I love how you ended it. ------------------ Work like you don't need the money, love like it's never going to hurt, dance like nobody's watching. Michael...it's good to see I'm not alone in this predicament. Two time zones, and 2500 miles of interstate travel before I will reach my final destination. There I know love awaits and the futuristic spyder spins a web for two. Congratulations, Michael, and your find, and when you get there, make sure the shutters and blinds shutter and blind...let those voyeurs look elsewhere, and may the cybersexuals stay online. This is so incredibly beautiful and Femme's reply was equally as touching. It makes me wish I could wave a magic wand and put you two at each other's side. ------------------ What you hid from your parents as kids, you will hide from your kids as parents. ~Cletus T Judd~ |

Michael...another beautiful piece as always. I am jumping up and down for you two...I hope that one day soon you can get together. It makes my heart so happy to see all the love flying around in this place. I must agree with a posted reply I read from Caroline...I too wish I could get you all together in one place and see what the out come might be. You guys always keep me smiling! Well, I have gone from disdain at PFF standing you up, to curiosity as to what would happen next, until I have arrived at pure captivation of this entire epic. I would almost hate to see the two of you get together and put an end to the wonderful poetry it has created although, now that I think of it, what great poetry THAT would produce! Either way we, the avid readers, cannot lose! Keep it up, Michael. ------------------ Great minds discuss ideals. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people. |

WOW!! Your words make me think of the night and days I spend longing for my Dean. 2800 miles separate us right now, but Dean also reaches deep into my soul and has totally captivated my heart. Each night as we calculate 3 time zones, I long to feel his arms embrace me and his lips ravish my body. Sorry for the mush, but my heart and being must follow the path I has been set on, not too much longer and these two vibrant people will be together, I hope your paths bring you to the same ending. With love and hope, Tisha |

MY GOD! This is so heart-wrenching, I nearly cried. I understand, as well you know, Michael and PFF. Keep dreaming - dreams you really want will come true. |
