I've held your tears
puddled in my hands...
Bathed in their tragedy,
I cut open my own heart
as a place to keep your
words safe from those
who would not hear you
and could not understand
Your pain, like brittle glass
shattered my own eyes
But I let no liquid languish
in umber depths, so that
the color of the sky would
not be dimmed longer
than rain was needed
And storms have become
my life, absorbing the
thunder and lightning of
yours as expected,
even demanded as my
Responsibility
Now when threatened
by my own forecast
I reach for a
vessel to hold my
tears and find that
I've forgotten
how to cry

Well now, this is both surprise and not. It is not what I expected and it is very good to boot. Thank you Caroline for penning this and posting it.

Wow!! Caroline....this is very tragic, but oh so well written. The flow is smooth, the message deep but well stated. You did a wonderful job on this.

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints in our heart and we are never ever the same.

Thank you all for leaving footprints!!
