I long for awesome sunsets
Someone to share them with,
Romantic walks along the beach
A passionate, tender kiss.
I long for summer nights
To lay beneath the moon,
Make love under twinklin stars
Or in the park at noon.
I long for summer dances
In a field filled high with wheat,
Or the coldness of a stream
Where we could hang our feet.
Romantic dinners by candlelight
A loving word from you,
A warm and steamy bath
With bubbles filled for two.

My dear, such a departure from your usual work!! I hope to see much more of this from you my friend.

These are truly the things of which romance is made and I for one practice them all as diligently as I can, as often as I can.

Balladeer I am honored! I have to admit I am a die hard romantic, can't help myself. My weakness. But thank you for your compliment. It means a lot to me!!!

Everyone wants (sometimes longs) for this type of romantic love. You have painted the picture well.

I think you may want to consider a different rhyme than "with" and "kiss".... perhaps "I long for awesome sunsets/ With someone I will miss" or, better yet "I long for awesome sunsets/ a rhapsody of bliss".

just a suggestion.
Otherwise, enjoyed the read.

You got me dreaming! When done reading your poem I just sort of sat back and sighed and... ah well you know what I mean.
Your words sent my memory on a trip to another place in time. TY!

Thank you doreen for the suggestion! I appreciate that!
Angel Rand, thank you! That is what I was aiming for. It put quite the vision in my head as I was writing it. I am glad those words could give you a happy moment in time. That is the ultimate comment dear, thank you!

This poem is very beautiful.  It touched my heart.  Are there men out there that long for the same things we do?  I sure hope so.

I hope you knew these things,
that temporal life brings
sweet voice that n'er shall sing
now placed beyond death's sting
-I who did not know ye

Funny I read this and thought she must surely have all that and more now. She can still make me smile a million miles away.  Lovely just lovely look on love.
