The sounds outside my window now Are a symphony, A new puppy barking, It's frolicking with glee. The neighbour's buzz saw as he's working on some new gadget to make, Another neighbour's hammerfalls as he mends the old worn gate, The children's laughter as that puppy plays, The sound of the butcherbird calling for it's mate. The wind blows as it whispers through the trees, Another unknown birdsong singing of it's passion, My purples Daisy's covered with buzzing bees, A funfilled Saturday afternoon seems to be the fashion. Another neighbour's whilstling an unknown but happy tune, He's mulching all his gardens today, Enjoying the sunny afternoon, Amidst echoes of children at play. The sun is speckled through my Golden Palms, It blinks at me like encoded joy, And next door young Amy runs into her Grandmother's arms, The puppy still frolicking like a wind up toy. It's just a simple Saturday, But one all seemed to have had fun, Another beginning to a magical weekend, Spent under the Australian sun. ------------------ Words that enlighten the soul are more precious than jewels. ~Isis~ |

Isis, Good poem. I liked the imagery from down under. Sounds a little like my old neighborhood... Tyson |
