As they arrived back at Iverness,
The courtyard was covered with smoke,
They couldn't see in front of them,
It seemed the devil had awoke.

He ran with drawn sword for the battlements,
She went to see whom she could assist in the tower,
There were screams, children crying and confusion,
The old, sick and infirm could only cower.

They opened the gates, the knights engaged in battle,
He fought full of courage and pride,
Inside as she worked she prayed for her love,
For too often too many had died.

She worked her healing with herbs,
The wounded were coming thick and fast,
She glanced at each face with fear in her heart,
Hoping her knight would not be carried past.

The battle raged on 'til dusk was nigh,
She smelt the fires, saw the wounded and hurt,
They were holding their own it seemed,
But how many more would lie dying in the dirt?

Sorry...but stay tuned for part 4.......

I'm going crazy here! I hope it's not her knight either.

I don't know how I want it to end! I hope he won't die, but at the same time...never mind, I don't want to influence it!

Isis, I haven't read the other two save this. I'm sorry I can't suggest anything, but you're doing a great job so far!

Thanks Artur, but the 4th is the last, and it didn't quite flow as well, ah well, if at first we don't succeed.....
