To be able to write this dissertation on the purpose of my poetry, I first looked up the word purpose. ‘Reason’…hmmm. Is there a reason for my poetry? What is the reason I write? I write to put the complexities of my soul into words. There is no reason. I write…I create..as I live..as I breathe…because not writing will cause me to die. I may not die physically, but I will surely die spiritually, intellectually, creatively. My poems may not be about real life, they may be whimsical or fantastical; or they may be heart wrenchingly real. You see, inside me, lurks a woman who wants to make other people smile, laugh, think, react, feel! I want YOU to be touched by my words and if you are, then we have somehow connected. The purpose of my poetry is the same as the purpose of my life. To give to others……. and not expect anything in return. |

And I know for certain that your words have touched many, including myself. ------------------ "Grief can take care of itself, but to get the full value of joy you must have somebody to divide it with." *Mark Twain* |

Lady deVine, you hold quite a place in my life. Because of your words? Yes, but also because of your candor and non-forum ideas. You touch many people and that is a thing of wonder. ------------------ Shall I indulge in flights of fancy hampered by clipped wings? DreamEvil© |

Whoa...now I feel all old and stuff, with a vague recollection of this some 6 years ago. Thanks a zillion. *chuckle* |
