I wish to write about my daughter, who else?

She was born August 7th, 1997, as blue as the cold of ice....
From day one she was the strongest little creature that I have known...My
Amber. Named so because she is mine, and I chose it to be. Named so because
she shines a little amber light on my whole life, covering it in a hazy
shade of softness and peace!
She has changed my life a great deal!
Before I had my little Amber, I was on the wrong track through life. Drinking
my money away, moving from one place to another and mixing with the wrong
kinds of friends.
Then I met her daddy, and we fell in love, yet nothing has changed, we were
just the same ol' two people on the same ol' track.
When I discovered I was pregnant with Amber, I considered abortion. Even
though it was against all I believed in, I did. But, since I had cancer, and
was told years before that I would never have a child again, I could not
let my little baby be killed before it had a chance to survive.
And that she did. We started calling her "Tinkerbell" while she was in my
womb, and the changes in both dear hubby and me started to take place.
We got jobs, and stopped drinking. We lost many a "friend" along the way.
Yet, we told no one about the baby I am carrying inside me. We hardly spoke
off her at all. But we both knew that she was special.
We changed even more. We became proud, and directional, we became clean and
whole, we became the parents of the most beautiful gift ever...to us.
The family got to adore her, all be it a surprise having little missy in the
home!
And. I started living my path again. I started paying attention to little
things through my baby's eyes.
I noticed how my life has changed and how I became a mother myself.
I still have that cancer, but now I am not scared of it anymore, I really
cannot have another baby, but I am glad I had this one!
She is my little Amber-light!
I chose this little person to write about, because she is so big. I admire her
complexity yet her total simplicity.
My daughter has the wisdom of old, combined with the knowledge of new!
She made me who I am today, and one day, I hope she can also smile and say
the same about her mom.
She has more than magic surrounding her. She has the Goddess herself guiding
her from within.
She made me whole and filled in all those little spaces than sometimes get
forgotten until it is too late to remember!
We have new friends now, hand-picked if you will, by our Amber.
She is stronger than the strongest, yet weaker than the weakest. She is my
Daughter, she is your friend, and she is her own true companion.
She is Amber.

A.

Ardonida,

That was a wonderful story.  It's amazing at how even the smallest child can make the biggest difference.

Though many come just to look at it,
A very few actually come to enjoy it.

beautiful, love filled tribute to your little MIRACLE...
as that is what she did...came into your world and worked a miracle and look how she changed you.
wondeful writing.
take care of your self...

Isn't it amazing the changes that a child can make in our lives.
This is so beautiful and heart warming. I'm glad that it put you on life's better path.
For so many people would have continued on a distructive path.
I have a cousin who is now in this same type of situation and  I have been some what worried about it.
This gives me a new out look and a sense of hope. Thank you so much for sharing this!
I'm so proud and happy for you all!
This is excellent
Wonderfuly written, challenge well met!

This is precious, A.

I have seen babies change so many women's
lives and the direction that they choose.
It is like watching a new story unfold.
Hope you can get rid of the cancer.
Glad you have a "tinkerbell"

I read this and wondered how you were both doing today?  So, therefore I ask - "How are you doing?"  Merry Christmas!

It's a delight to read how she, herself, created life in you and your hubby.  Kids have a way of doing that, don't they?  A wonderful story!
