Dear Lauren, The very first time I heard you speak I was captivated; as though you spoke in a voice meant solely for my ears, uttered words that touched only my soul and had a message that I alone should have the luxury to receive. I unearthed a new hope, one that granted me courage to overcome obstacles love had placed before me in my past. You proved indeed to be a catalyst. Bringing about a new era in my life and introducing me to a side of myself I thought to be dormant. How marvelous. As I wake from my sleep, mid-night to dream of your face I wonder if those responsible for Heaven on Earth carried the emotions I felt in their thoughts. Did I embrace you in that moment, because my spirit carries with it a lingering essence of our togetherness. Did I see you smile truthfully, because my heart searches earnestly to bring you joy. Did your words bathe faintly against my being, because I long to hear you whisper my name. And so this letter is an ode to a new stage, where the sky is the limit and the distance from dirt to cloud equals the reach of true love as innocent and passionate lovers know it to be. This letter carries with it the prayer that my fear will no longer cage my message, but only fuel the delivery of my desires. This letter is so you know how I have found much strength and confidence in the weakness you put me through. This letter is so you can see right through me. |
