It was one of those moments - the kind that leaves your stomach filled to the brim with butterflies and your mind light. For some reason his presence beckoned to me like nothing else I had known.

There he was in the video surveillance in the back.  I waited all afternoon and finally it was him returning - like he said he would.

I gave him his usual coffee; he gave me his usual grin; I experienced my usual adrenalin rush. Maybe there'd be time to talk today.

There was. And that day I found a new friend. We went to the fair that evening and a jerk of a boyfriend lost his girlfriend the next day.

And me and my friend still reminise as we listen to the squeals of our children's laughter.

Karma can be a real pain in the keister.  This was a nice whimsical slice-of-life piece, which got me grinning as I read it.

Nice description of the sensation!  This is fun to read.

Copperbell,
Yup, but it was over too quick. You left me wanting more.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
