There it was, glinting smugly in the wan light.  It knew I was watching it, and I knew it knew I knew what it was thinking.  Still, what could I do, having a steaming cup of coffee in either hand?  Feigning a turn, the snag was felt.  There, on the handle's prong, was hung the knitted corner of my fuzzy house coat, reflected dimly in the polished percolator by the sugar bowl.  Stepping to the side, with a subtle hip twist the corner slipped free, but I knew with grim certainly that state of affairs was short lived.  A turn and step proved fatally true, the echo of a brass snigger still in the air.  There, hung once more, was the knitted corner of my fuzzy house coat hooked on the handle's prong.  This was proving to be a long day.

That switch to "decaf" can be a rough ride.

Enjoyed, bro.

Sounds like that wasn't the morning to smug with your mug. LOL @ Karen. Also seconding the notion you should write more prose! That was a fun piece hope I see more of you in here.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
