Only One Tear After Sunset...

A man and a woman were driving in a car through the country. The woman was looking out of the car window and saw beautiful flowers at both sites of the road. White flowers with a golden heart… daisy’s… her favourite flowers… She remembered a picture of herself as a two-year old girl in a field full of daisy’s… she must have been happy then, surrounded by flowers on a warm summer day, buzzing bee’s and butterflies.

The woman asked the man to stop the car for a moment so she could pick a few of those flowers. “No”, said the man, “imagine everybody does that, there will be no flowers left for others to enjoy!”
The woman said nothing, but she closed her eyes.

In her mind she saw an other couple in a car, driving the same road. This woman asked the same question, the man smiled at her and stopped the car. He gave the woman a kiss and said to her: “Just wait, I’ll be back in a second!” She smiled while she blew a kiss at him.
The man came back with an arm full of daisy’s, he looked into her eyes and said: “Those flowers are almost as beautiful as you are baby.” The woman was holding the flowers, she looked back at the man and she told him how much she loved him… he kissed her again… and again… telling her he loved her too…

The woman opened her eyes, seeing that the sun had set… only one tear found his way down her cheek…

And the darkness outside matches the cold emptiness in her heart…

Some times the smallest and simplest things are the most important and powerful of all.
It's sad that it's forgotten by so many!
And what worse, being used to it. Enough so to only shed one tear.

I liked reading your prose piece and the writing hit me where it should. It had a real visual impact.
