I have a question similar to DarkLonelyOne's... My best friends graduation party is Sunday and I want to make her something really personal. I was thinking about doing something with a poem, but I have a few problems. I am horribly self conscience over my own poems, and I dont think that they are developed enough to give as a gift, and what I am finding through searching piptalk (both past and present poems) is that they all tell a personal story of the writers own trials and tribulations, and that doesn't apply to this particular person. Anyway, the point I am trying to get: Do any of you have a favorite poem written prefferably by classic poet about graduation? It would be greatly appreciated if you could tell me the name and the author... Thank you! ~Lisa P.S. I will give credit to the author of the poem when I make the gift, I will make sure she knows I did not write it |

Hi, If you use Google as a search englne and type in Graduation Poem, or Friendship Poem you will get thousands of entries, and one example is below. I am sure that if you print a poem you like from the Internet and make sure the author's name and proper credit is on it, your gift of words would be appreciated. You know though, she is your best friend, and I am sure that being a best friend she would not judge your poetry in any other way than that you wrote it as a special gift for her from your heart. I would rather two verses written for me in "HAND" by a friend, than a card or something someone else wrote, and I bet she would treasure it! Give it some thought I bet she would. http://www2.uic.edu/~dmitra1/poem.html Nothing means more to me than faith, |
