I was wondering if someone could tell me how many different forms of writing there are for poetry. I only know of or even heard of a few.... villanelle, pantoum, free style, iambic tetrometer, so how many are there? I know there is one that has the format of 9 lines line one has 2 syllables line 2 has 4 6, then 8 then 10, then 8, 6 , 4 , 2, with the last 2 being the same 2 that you started out with ....what is that kind called? I am curious how many different styles there are so I can try to do one of each style.... |

My "Encyclopedia of Poetry" is several hundred pages long... I suspect it'll take awhile for you to do them all... I'm really looking forward to seeing your completed works though - It's a great goal... |
