I am looking for a poem I read years ago and I believe the title was Hope is a double edged sword.
I was about a woman involved with a married man.  I am having a disagreement with someone about whether hope is all good or can also be damaging.  I thought of this poem as it covers both but can't find my copy.  Can anyone help me?

I am sorry Patches. I not not the poem you seek. If it is any consolation, I agree that hope has two edges. Without hope we are doomed to walk in darkness but hope invaritablly brings disappointment. What is life without disappointment?
