Dear Moderator,

This is about the "On Old English" thread in the English Workshop.

In post #9 (line 7) I wrote "...showing any where but initially by back vowels."  Now that seems messy-worded to me again reading.  May a moderator edit that to say:  "found medially by back vowels ( u, o, a ) in a word"?   It is too late for me to edit.  I shall appreciate your help.

Thanks.

In sum ["On Old English" Thread]

I just wanted to see if the "a name" html tag worked from one post to another.  It looks like it does.

Dear Moderator
May I bother you for another little edit in the English worshop?
thread:/pip/Forum32/HTML/000195-2.html#38
Just need each "(e)" deleted and an "-" inserted in stead;
And "(e) = an e is sometimes there" deleted.  I decided that e shouldn't be in the inflectiontable as it is not officially an inflection.
Also  could you turn "(u) = an u is sometimes there"  to: "(u) = "- or u" inflection?
I will appreciate that help very muchly.  Thank'ee

Just repost the entire entry, Ess, with your corrections, and then someone can delete your old post with the errors.

Alas, I said "of we two" in the words near the bottom of this post.  Could I get that changed to "of us two"?

Alas, there is a major edit that I seek in my "On Old English" thread.  It is about the terminology "old" and "modern" or "new"
I wish to change every occurance of "Old English" in the title and in all my posts to "Young English" and each occurance of "Modern English" (or "New English") to "Old English" , but also each occurance of the abbreviation "OE" to "YE (Young English) and "ModE" to "OE" (Old English)"
I no longer accept the traditional terminology, that seem most backward to me, based on deeper considerations of the evolution of the language. And also have an explanation for the change of terminology that I will add to the thread afterwards.

Is there anyway I may make this edit, or have a moderator make this edit for me?

Sorry, Ess, but those kind of extensive edits are a bit beyond expectations. You're certainly free to change your mind about something, but changing your mind doesn't change the past.

If you would like to start a new thread and duplicate the old, with your changes of course, I'll be happy to lock and later delete the old thread.
