The cost of friendship

What is the cost of friendship?
Not just any friendship,
but the friendship of a true friend.
What is the cost of true friendship?
Five dollars, ten dollars, twenty?
Maybe one hundred dollars?
Priceless?
How many of us
would give anything
and everything
for true friendship?
How much is true friendship worth
to me?
Would I give up my freedom?
My speech?
My sense of smell?
My sight?
What would I give?
What would you give?
How much is true friendship worth
to us?

...peace as a primary goal, is dangerous because it implies that you will sacrifice any principle for the sake of it....

In my opinion, this poem makes me wonder.  You made me wonder about what would I give up for friendship/friends.  My answer would be... anything, except my family.  My friends are my family, but there is a time when I have to draw the line.  Overall.. I love your poem, mainly because of the fact that it made me wonder...

It's a fine poem, but I think it would work best if you didn't have all the questions, if you would affirm it instead.

hi, personally i will think this poem will bring about more impact on the reader if the sentiments here are written in a short intense piece...also as Flower Power says, i will like to hear some answers about this question coming from the poet himself/herself...

this is thought-provoking though...thanx for making me think...

Thanks for critiquing my poem. The reason that I have more questions than answers in it is that I was wondering and didn't know the answers!

hello! I'm ILN, but with a new name, the last one was an idea of a friend of mine, now that I've got a better idea of my own, I'll use it instead.
