...he stands on the corner yelling
about the end and how It Is Coming
and how we should all Repent Repent Repent
and all that and the passers-by in

their blues and yellows and greys

pay him no attention, knowing he is
right but realizing the futility of
the thought. God claps his hands,
enjoying the sweet irony of the drama...

but the rooster is too preoccupied to notice.

and the rain and thunder keep on
coming, forty days and nights of it...
forty days and nights of flashing
laughter, tears and thunderous applause.

This is an interesting piece but I'm a little confused. At first, I thought it was a modern setting and then a Noah setting but in both cases are there that many people (or chickens for that matter) who believe that the end is really coming?

I don't know,
Brad

it's not a noah setting... and yes, there are a lot of them still, and yes, i think god should oblige them, just to give them SOME joy in their lives... but then, they wouldn't even notice... they're too self-wrapped in the mode of telling everyone else.

I enjoyed the mood and you have some great lines but overall... it left me a bit confused too.

Maybe be a little less vague in your direction.  I know what you are trying to say... I get the message... I'm just not sure how you got there.

Very visual... "forty days and nights of flashing laughter, tears and thunderous applause."  I really like these two lines!!
