There is an old Italian legend… “It was a sunny day And there was something new In the air. Mother snake was giving birth To her seventh son. He was the oldest of the nest. She was licking him When, suddenly The asp bit to the mother to death”. Much later Another son, man Bit his mother, “Nature”, to death. She gave him life She nurtured and loved him. But he, ungratefully like the asp Poisoned air, water, and ground. Whilst she was dying She even looked at him with love. Oh, poor man! Don’t you realize that You have bitten yourself? |

I really love this poem - please see my other note in #7 - but since I found this in here - only one thing struck me - the seventh baby born in the nest, would not be the oldest. |

This is very good poem and leaves a lot to ponder on. I agree with the above. And, it struck me, too --) last one can't be the oldest. I think I would put a comma after but he, ungratefully, like the asp But, that is what I think makes for easier reading. Otherwise. this poem gets my kudos --) netswan |
