Led Zeppelin is so good I would have loved to see them live Imagine That I don’t feel like we are seeing any Beatles Zeppelins Hendrix’s Anymore It was so fresh back then It was new No video to sell it No advertising getting in the artist’s way It was clean road Maybe that’s why I secretly make fun of hippies Cause they were naïve They couldn’t see what was coming The utopia The dream unravelling I don’t blame them If I had the opportunity to be a hippie I would take it, sure Why not Lose myself for a few years. Maybe even pretend if I had to Tell myself things to maintain my feeling of freedom I don’t blame them at all If they were ignorant It was beautifully done Innocently A dove With soft claws Flying as long as possible To avoid scratching the earth Its silly now Doves The idea of them All white and virginal Breasts to the wind I laugh now Because it is silly Hippies I tell myself its funny They were so naive While secretly I'm jealous That my dove wasn't allowed As long a flight |

Hey Patch, Haven't seen you in a while. I like this. It's different...fresh. However, I don't equate idealism (if that's what you're saying hippies were) with naivete. There have been idealists since... well, a long, long time. I've always been one...just depends on your outlook, perceptions, and standing up for what you believe in. Hi Patch, Good to see you again. This was refreshing. I too remember the hippies, even had a few friends. Brought back a few pleasant memories of simpler times. Thanks. Patch, Like wow, man, groovy. I've got "Freebird" cranked on the radio right now and I'm trippin. Cool poem. bboog |

Naive, are we? Hippies that is. A wonderful poem, and being the hippie that I am, I appreciate this work a great deal. |
