Just a Note Just a note, a sad scribbling, From someone you can’t trust, After a life’s mad dribbling Of fingers through the dust. So glad we finally have it clear, All I will (n)ever be. Still, ‘won’t see it as insincere, The time you stole from me. A pleasured hand, a pleasured heart, I gave you all I could. Stood tall to take your poisoned dart, I even understood. I let you rip my chest apart— Let you pour in the salt. Let you perfect it—such fine art, I'll still swear it my fault. But why, with naught but agony Left to this soul to give, Do your fingers still cling to me Unwilling to forgive? I’ll ever wear that searing brand, Bear shame across the eye. I just will never understand Why you can’t let me die. Michael Anderson 3/14/21 [This message has been edited by Michael (03-15-2021 01:05 PM).] |

Lovely write, Mike. It would make a good funeral dirge. Cowboy-up, Bro. Never give away the victory of moving on. |

Great image you inspire, John. Gettin up on that horse and makin for the sunrise. Maybe I use that. Everyone equates Spring with new birth, but Old Man Winter still has to die first. |

Michael...Really enjoyed this. sounds like a lost love poem, but in your comment to John it sounds like you are talking about the change of seasons. It's easy to forgive but hard as hell to forget...Paul Take care my friend ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ |

Don't think old man winter, nor any other season, dies - they just relax the pace for awhile and allow someone else to lead the pack - while they (seasons - winter) rest up, reading for another sprint to the forefront. jimmy |
