Looking back on my whole lifetime-
I have no real regret.
In spite of some bad choices,
And bad people that I met.

A lot of heart worn highways
Some tears along the way-
Have all contrived to fashion,
The man you see today.

I’ve never been successful-
At anything I tried…
And yet I’ve somehow made it
At least I have survived.

I may have lost direction-
Somewhere along the track,
But I find there is no future…
If a man keeps looking back.

"And yet I’ve somehow made it
At least I have survived."

I read that line and had a flashback to the Metallica video "One"...the guy who survived the war but had no arms and no legs and was blinded.  Somehow makes me think surviving may not always be worth it if we can't do it in tact.

Your eyes are in the right place, John.  Looking forward.  Glad to see it.
