Fleeting~ I heard an old song on a tv commercial the other day, it awakened such a mood in me, back when lyrics and tunes captured your soul and never let go, even when youth has faded. I thought of Summer nights as a young girl, scent of lilac seeping through curtains, content in my bed wearing angel and devil print baby-doll pajamas, feeling a good kind of tired, at peace with my surroundings knowing the one who loved me unconditionally was still on the planet, in the very next room. Expectation of a carnival come to town lulls all the children of the house into dreamland, a night breeze plays a train whistle tune to accompany the journey, 'and the moon rose over an open field' They've all gone to look for America... © Augustsky The song that inspired.. I’ve always enjoyed those summer nights just before twilight sleep. I felt I was there again. Lovely poem Augustsky. |

I suppose I am a dinosaur. Virtually all of the artists I listen to are long dead, and I spend my waning days allowing the music to take me back to different times. whether better or not. |

"back when lyrics and tunes captured your soul and never let go, even when youth has faded." Ah, when music was played on instruments by artists, whose hearts would burst if they couldn't present their art. Who struggled and strived most every day of their lives to perfect it. I miss those days. The electronic age has its perks but the death of real music, made from the heart and not just the flicking of a few different switches, is not worth the trade off to an old loner like myself. Your ending is priceless seal on the yearning felt in this peace and the whimsical beliefs of a young girl. |
