(This is basically a country song I wrote, intended to be a duet between two fellas singing the praises of that one blessed element in life that so occupies our time and our minds: woman.) _________ Ladies of the Sunset Hello my friend do you concur that this world spins like the steel spurs dug into our hearts by the ladies of the sunset I'm quite a sight to behold painting the romance road on the cliffsides of my skin damned if she didn't just run straight through my soul stops to begin again and I say what’s a foolish boy to do well my friend I think we agree that women hold the key to our destiny me I'm a fool thinking 'bout the ladies of the sunset Yes my friend I sure do concur that this world spins like the steel spurs dug into our hearts by the ladies of the sunset I'd lasso the harvest moon just to hear her diamond tune to light the rest of my days damn she can glare like a mare in heat my mind races behind my face gonna take time to get back on my feet yeah my friend we're right in line that women shift the sands of our time me I sit and drool thinking 'bout the ladies of the sunset Ladies of the sunset senorita with musky midnight eyes do I register anything in your Everest heart? la belle dame sans regret la dolce vita dreaming 'neath purple skies may I have this dance before I depart I'm looking to hang my hat on a love so true tell me now that's what you're thinking too come first light the train leaves for Joliet so tell me tell me my lady of the sunset That ol' female persuasion is seriously persuading me tonight the blood rushes elation I give in without a fight my body sings like the river wide to whom do I owe such a debt a stampede on my silly pride courtesy the ladies of the sunset Yeah that ol' feminine mystique is seriously mystifying me tonight the heart begins to leak I'm dying to take flight my body sings like the river wide to whom do I owe such a debt happy to be taken for a ride I love you lady of the sunset Ladies of the sunset senorita with musky midnight eyes do I register anything in your Everest heart? la belle dame sans regret la dolce vita dreaming 'neath purple skies may I have this dance before I depart I'm looking to hang my hat on a love so true tell me now that's what you're thinking too come first light the train leaves for Joliet so tell me tell me my lady of the sunset Oh I won’t soon forget I love you sweet lady of the sunset “The problem with the world is that everyone is a few drinks behind” —Humphrey Bogart |

the 'lyrics' smack of one being mesmerized by the lady's savvy...could be quite good for a melody...wanting to persuade an elusive woman who knows she has attracted someone...nice one! |
