Time is like a river, No beginning nor an end- There are always new horizons Somewhere just around the bend. There are sights to see-Mistakes to make… Decisions, right, or wrong? They seem to run together Like a sad and lonely song. No sense in looking back, friend- The current is too strong… Don’t waste your time on memories- You have to move along. The past is gone forever- The future, no one knows- We have to seize the present- From the river as she flows. It seems we enter rapids- As we so quickly age… It’s hard to get our bearings- As the rapids roil and rage. It’s sure to overwhelm us That is just the way life goes- We will sink beneath the surface- As the river onward flows. |

GsJohn, Enjoyed your river metaphor. Many times I've stared off onto a river or a lake in quiet solitude.. Amazing how water has such a pull to our spirit. Sky~ |

Rapids John? Are you sure? I need to get a refund, my river run nearly still, and is all dried up. Nostalgic piece, even if reflective more reflective of the future than the past I think. |
