Rainy Day
By Paul Wilson

Tomorrow begins a new day
Another day without you
Since you left this life
For strength to God I look to

Teardrops flow down my face
The band plays on... as the singerweeps
Lonely dove calls for his mate
Where sorrow never sleeps

Clouds block the stars
That remind me of you
My heart grows heavy
Oh how I miss you

No headstone marks
Your resting place
Just a burning memory
That nothing can ever erase

So many questions left unanswered
So many conversations we’ll never share
So many memories we’ll never make
So many times I call and you’re not there

It rained today you would have loved it
I sat in the porch swing thinking of you
Raindrops falling down... like my tears
Lifetime of memories shared with you

Seasons are changing
Flowers starting to bloom
Gardenia’s won’t be long
Your favorite one coming soon

~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~
Paul

Happy to see you've picked the pen up, Paul.

"So many conversations we’ll never share
So many memories we’ll never make
So many times I call and you’re not there"

I can very much relate tot hose words.  Challenge well met, and then some.
